What to do in the Quebrada de Humahuaca
In this section you will find general recommendations and some precise indications to visit by your own some outstanding destinations of the tourist circuit of the Quebrada de Humahuaca in the province of Jujuy (Argentina), as well as some suggestions to start designing your trip through the Argentine north with some aniticipation. Our idea is to tell you something about the main tourist attractions of the Quebrada de Humahuaca and some of the activities that you can do on your own from Tilcara.
A good alternative to combine nature, culture and gastronomy in a single trip is to make base in Tilcara. Its wide range of hotels, its wide variety of restaurants and teahouses, its ten museums and its distinguished handcraft fair make many travelers to choose it to spend their nights. It is a strategic point to visit other villages of the Quebrada de Humahuaca such as Purmamarca, Uquía, Maimará, Yavi and Humahuaca and the most outstanding places of the region.
Following the RN9 at the margin of the river (Rio Grande), there is a great variety of landscapes, colors, mountains and geological formations of one of the richest regions of South America, both for its cultural heritage and for the natural wonders that the Pachamama gives us.
We recommend to our guests a minimum stay of five days because we believe that in less time you can not discover the energy that springs from the particular combination between nature and culture that caracterized the Quebrada de Humahuaca.
